PM RoundTable: Lifting the Standard of Property Management Leadership

Jul 31, 2026

Property Management continues to be one of the most important areas of a real estate business.

It touches clients, tenants, team culture, profitability, service standards, risk, retention and reputation. When Property Management is strong, the whole business benefits. When it is under pressure, the impact is felt everywhere.

That was the focus of our recent PM RoundTable, an exclusive event for The Network designed to bring Property Management leaders and teams together to learn, share, connect and lift the standard of performance.

Across the two days, The Network heard from outstanding speakers including Sadhana Smiles on Future Fit Leadership, Melanie Tantanis with valuable survey insights for leaders, and Kirryn Zerna on the power of connection, communication and trust through her signature framework, The Connect Effect.

Day 1 was dedicated to leaders, with a focus on stepping back from the day-to-day and looking at the bigger picture of Property Management performance. Day 2 was designed for teams, with a focus on sharpening skills, building confidence and creating better outcomes on the ground.

Future Fit Leadership with Sadhana Smiles

A highlight of the event was hearing from Sadhana Smiles, who joined us to speak on Future Fit Leadership.

Her session challenged leaders and teams to think about what it means to lead in a changing environment. Property Management is evolving quickly, and the businesses that will continue to thrive are the ones willing to invest in people, improve the client experience and build teams that are ready for what is next.

Sadhana brought a powerful mix of perspective, experience and practical thinking to the room, encouraging attendees to look at leadership through a more human, courageous and future-focused lens.

Real Insights from the PM Survey

We were also fortunate to have Melanie Tantanis join us for Leaders Day, sharing valuable survey insights with the group.

These insights helped open up important conversations around what Property Management teams are experiencing, where the pressure points are, and where leaders can focus their attention to create stronger performance.

It was a great reminder that data becomes most valuable when it leads to better questions, better conversations and better decisions.

Strengthening Connection with Kirryn Zerna

Team Day also featured Kirryn Zerna, an award-winning keynote speaker, LinkedIn Top Voice in Communications and author, who brought a powerful session on connection, communication and performance.

Drawing on 20 years of experience in corporate communications and branding, Kirryn shared her signature framework, The Connect Effect, exploring how trust, culture and performance grow when people feel genuinely connected, within their teams, with their clients and to the purpose of the work they do.

Her session was highly engaging and energising, giving Property Management teams practical ideas around how they communicate, how they build trust and how they create stronger relationships in the moments that matter.

For teams who are managing pressure, expectations and constant moving parts, Kirryn’s message was a valuable reminder that connection is a performance driver. When people feel seen, heard and aligned, they are better equipped to deliver great service and work together with confidence.

Creating Better Alignment Between Leaders and Teams

One of the most valuable parts of PM RoundTable was the way it connected leadership thinking with team execution.

For leaders, the focus was on clarity, strategy, structure and the standards required to create a high-performing Property Management business.

For teams, the focus was on practical skills, confidence, communication and the everyday habits that shape the client experience.

When leaders and teams are aligned, performance lifts. People understand what matters. Clients receive a better experience. The business has a stronger platform for growth.

That is the real value of bringing everyone together.

The Power of Learning Together

The Network has always believed in the power of shared learning.

When great people come together, ideas move faster. Leaders are able to hear what is working in other businesses. Teams can learn from peers facing similar challenges. Everyone gets the opportunity to step out of their own environment and see new possibilities.

That is what made PM RoundTable so valuable.

It was practical, energising and deeply relevant to the future of Property Management.

Moving Forward

Property Management will continue to play a major role in the growth, stability and value of real estate businesses.

The opportunity now is to keep lifting the standard.

That means building stronger leaders, supporting better teams, improving systems, strengthening communication and creating client experiences that stand out in the market.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for PM RoundTable, to our speakers and contributors, and to the Property Management professionals across The Network who continue to show up, share openly and commit to getting better.

The conversations were excellent.

The energy in the room was fantastic.

And the focus now is turning those insights into action.
